Since 1998, Mappy is shooting photographs of the façades of the major French cities.
Mappy has now developped an automatized process permitting to extract a single facade from the photographs.
These façades which are approximately geopositionned are then matched to a position on a map, the photo is corrected to eliminate the deformation from the camera lense, the heights of the buildings are then calulated from the pictures and all the volumes are recreated for building the 3D model of the city.
The obtained 3D model is then processed through Visioglobe's technology to enable us to move around freely in the city.
